2020 Radian Vineyard Pinot Noir

This special vineyard needs little introduction as Radian Vineyard has become well known among grape growers, wine producers, and connoisseurs alike for its production of refined fruit from the Sta Rita Hills AVA. The color on this 2020 Radian Pinot jumps out as ruby red with garnet touches on the rim but is almost completely opaque. The distinct aromas of Jolly Rancher and Dr. Pepper brings to mind youth and vigor which seamlessly evolves into baking spices and red fruit of cranberries, strawberries, and rhubarb pie. The palate is enveloped in bright fruit, clove and cherry, blonde leather caramel undertones, and finishes like a smokey cigar box and fresh earth. This is an engaging pinot to drink, and presents as rich with no florals, but exudes depth in its lengthy finish. Coming from a tricky vintage, this pinot noir shines with enough structure to age gracefully…we recommend patience of up to 3 years to pop the top…if you can wait that long! Pair this with a white pepper-crusted duck breast and a cauliflower puree.
